Postdoc – Protein Homeostasis in Mammalian Oocytes (f/m/x)

Research Area: Protein Homeostasis, Lysosomal Signaling, and Protein Biochemistry in Mammalian Oocytes
Location: University of Cologne, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Proven research excellence, demonstrated by (co-)first-author publications.
- Strong team player, with excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Experience or willingness to work with mice (previous animal experiment accreditation is desirable).
- Background in proteostasis, endolysosomal trafficking/signaling, biomolecular condensates, or protein biochemistry.
- Experience with oocyte/embryo manipulation, imaging, and/or in vitro reconstituted systems is an advantage.
Job Description:
- Investigate the regulation of endolysosomal super-organelles in mouse oocytes and its deterioration during reproductive aging.
- Perform isolation, microinjection, immunostaining, and imaging of mouse oocytes and embryos.
- Optimize ultra-low-input proteomics and lipidomics for mouse oocytes.
- Develop and lead an independent research project under the supervision of the PI.
- Supervise undergraduate students and contribute to the collaborative culture of the lab.
- Foster an environment of respect, collaboration, and mutual support within the team.
