Research Area:

The research focuses on understanding the post-stroke response in the brain, particularly the accumulation and maturation of induced neuroblasts (iNBs) in the perivascular niche and identifying strategies to promote neuronal regeneration.

Planegg, Munich, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in neuroscience, biology, biomedicine, or a related field
  • Strong background in neurobiology, stem cell biology, or regeneration research
  • Experience with in vivo models (preferably mouse)
  • Hands-on experience with modern molecular and cellular techniques
  • Experience in single-cell transcriptomics and/or bioinformatics analysis is desirable.
  • Strong publication record relative to career stage
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)

Job Description:

  • Design, plan, and execute independent research projects within the framework of CRC 1744
  • Investigate the cellular composition and molecular regulation of the post-stroke perivascular niche using in vivo models.
  • Apply and further develop techniques, including single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Perform functional experiments related to neuronal differentiation and regeneration.
  • Analyze and interpret complex multi-omics datasets
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners within CRC 1744
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication and present results at international conferences.
