Originated in 1882 as the University of the Punjab Lahore, it was relocated in Chandigarh in the year 1947 as the East Punjab University after the partition of India, where the university was split between India and Pakistan.

Eligibility/Qualification–
- The candidate must have a doctorate degree in the relevant subject with published research work to their credit.
- The upper age limit for applicants is 40 years,with relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates applicable as per Government of India Norms or 5 years.
- *Preference will be given to candidates having experience in the relevant research area/patent /industrial research experience.
Job/ Position Description-
Applications are invited for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) under RUSA 2.0 in the following thrust areas in the various departments of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Duration:Post Doctoral Fellowship will be offered initially for a period of nine months and can be extended on the basis of performanceand as per availability of funds in RUSA 2.0 scheme.
Fellowship: Rs. 1,00,000/- per month (consolidated)
Contingency: A contingency grant of Rs. 1,00,000 /- per annum will be provided for research purposes.
