Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualification:
- The prospective candidate should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology or related areas from a premier institute/University with a consistently good academic record.
- He/she should have a minimum of two ScI publications in high impact journals and a strong knowledge of protein chemistry and characterization techniques.
Desirable Qualification: It is desirable that the applicant will be interested in interdisciplinary areas handling research in chemistry as well as biochemistry.
Candidates who have recently submitted their doctoral thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will finish the proof of award of Ph.D. degree at the time of interview.
Job/Position Description-
Department of Chemistry at the Indian institute of Technology (11T) Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for post-doctoral fellowship ( PDF) under the mentorship of Prof. Kaushik Ghosh, focused on “A chemical approach to serum protein identification: improved specificity, selectivity and detection”.
Duration and Fellowship amount: The duration of the fellowship will be two years, extendable to one more year. The candidate is expected 10 join the Department as soon as offer letter has been released.

The prospective candidate is expected to have a strong background in Protein Chemistry and/or Synthetic Chemistry. Candidate should have experiences in different biophysical techniques as well as characterization techniques of organic and inorganic compounds by UV-Vis, IR. GC-MS, [PR and NMR measurements, Candidate should be passionate about working on cutting edge research leading to high impact products and services. Other research activities may include participating in research discussion with institutes overseas. Apart from research. the candidate may be entrusted with other academic responsibilities as per the institute rule.
- The fellow will receive a consolidated fellowship as below in addition to the contingency grant of ₹ 50,000/-per annum.
- First two years: ₹ 55,000/- per month
- Third-year: ₹ 60,000/- per month
