Research & Teaching Areas

The successful candidate will focus on undergraduate education with the following expectations:

  • Primary Teaching: Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (both lecture and lab components).
  • General Education: Teaching courses such as Human Nutrition.
  • Research: Undergraduate research mentorship is expected if the position is extended beyond the initial one-year term.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Education: A master’s degree in chemistry or a related field is required; a PhD in chemistry or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: The college seeks an engaging, creative, student-centered teacher who is a collaborative department member and actively engaged in professional organizations.

Job Description

As a Visiting Professor, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and teaching assigned courses using engaged learning practices.
  • Mentoring students through academic advising and recruiting activities.
  • Participating in departmental and faculty meetings, as well as campus and community activities.
  • Supervising approximately 6 student teaching assistants per semester.
  • Pursuing professional development opportunities.
