Postdoctoral Position in Anaerobic Digestion Processes

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. degree in biotechnology, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related areas.
- Proven expertise in anaerobic digestion technology.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing and optimizing anaerobic digestion processes by tuning operational conditions.
- Upscaling the process from a 1L to a 50L bioreactor.
- Analyzing microbial communities involved in the process.
- Mathematical modeling of mass balances.
- Communicating and disseminating research results through scientific publications and congress presentations.
- Writing project proposals for national and international calls.
- Supervising PhD, Master, or undergraduate students.
Requirements:
- Experience in biogas production in different bioreactor configurations and scales.
- Knowledge in microbial communities analysis.
- Experience in national and international research projects and collaborations.
- Strong publication record and scientific writing skills.
- Proficient in oral and written English communication.
Selection Criteria: Candidates will be evaluated based on:
- Adequacy of training to the requested profile.
- Work experience related to the job position.
- Proficiency in English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
Conditions:
- Remuneration: Between €38,000 – €41,000 Gross Salary per year, depending on qualification and expertise.
- The contract includes benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
- Duration of the contract: 1 year, with the possibility of annual renewals depending on performance.
Workplace: IMDEA Energía, Móstoles, Madrid.
