Postdoctoral Research Associate: Join the SalGo Team at the University of Oxford’s Department of Biology as a postdoctoral research associate. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research group led by Assoc Prof Rob Salguero-Gómez, focusing on integrating and predicting responses of natural systems to disturbances. The successful candidate will contribute to the further development of mathematical frameworks and the application of these frameworks to existing demographic datasets.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in biology, ecology, environmental science, mathematics, or related fields.
  • Strong background in mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and ecological theory.
  • Experience in working with demographic datasets and integrating responses of individuals to disturbances.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Job Description: The postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) will work within the SalGo Team and be co-supervised by Prof Andy Hector and Dr Iain Stott. The PDRA will contribute to the NERC Pushing the Frontiers project by further developing mathematical frameworks and applying them to long-term demographic datasets. Responsibilities include conducting research, analyzing data, developing models, and collaborating with other team members to achieve project goals. The PDRA will also have the opportunity to contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
