Eligibility/Qualification
- Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in geosciences, chemistry, materials science, or related field (must have completed degree no more than 5 years prior).
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of X-ray or neutron diffraction
- Experience in wet chemistry and materials characterization
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Excellent communication skills in complex scientific discussions
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct in situ experiments using X-ray and neutron techniques on powder samples.
- Develop in situ capabilities for neutron scattering instruments.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across ORNL.
- Analyze scattering data and contribute to developing data workflows.
- Publish research findings and present at national and international conferences.
