Postdoctoral Research Associate – Physical Metallurgy of Lightweight Alloys
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for understanding the processing-microstructure-property relationships in cast and additive aluminum alloy systems. They will perform necessary chemistry and processing modifications to achieve target alloy properties and apply advanced characterization and modeling techniques to make fundamental contributions to the field. The candidate will collaborate with other researchers, technicians, and students to shape and drive the research agenda. Additionally, the position entails presenting and reporting research results in peer-reviewed journals, ensuring compliance with safety and quality program requirements, fostering strong working relationships within Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
