Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD (or PhD near completion) in Neuroscience, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent professional qualification and/or experience.
- Relevant post-graduate research experience.
- First-author publications in neuroscience or cell biology.
- Experience with laboratory animals and culturing of primary rodent neurons.
- Familiarity with stereotaxic injections (mice).
- Experience in fluorescence imaging and analysis.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct primary research on mRNA transport mechanisms in neurons.
- Investigate the regulation of local protein synthesis during synaptic plasticity.
- Utilize imaging techniques and advanced proteomics to study the dynamics of mRNA availability and protein translation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and engage in publications and presentations.
