Location
The positions are based at Tampere University, located in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences or the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences.
Job Description
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Designing, coordinating, and implementing their own independent research projects.
- Publishing results in high-impact international scientific venues.
- Developing semiconductor technologies and contributing to the relevant knowledge base.
- Collaborating within the FutureChips environment, which includes access to advanced micro- and nanofabrication facilities like the System-in-Package Fabrication (SiPFAB).
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Must hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., future electronics, electrical engineering, photonics, micro- and nanotechnology, semiconductor physics, advanced materials, or chip design) by 31 August 2026.
- Mobility Requirement: Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work/studies) in Finland for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately preceding the application deadline.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability for independent scholarly activity and fluent spoken/written English.
