Postdoctoral Researcher at UCSB: The University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Department of Physics. The successful candidate will collaborate with Assistant Professor Maxwell Millar-Blanchaer in the Millar-Blanchaer Research Group, focusing on innovative research in high-contrast imaging, particularly in the field of exoplanetary system imaging.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Basic qualifications (required at time of application): Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, Optical Science, or a closely related field (except the dissertation).
- Additional qualifications (required at time of start): Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, Optical Science, or a closely related field by the time the appointment begins.
- Preferred qualifications: 2-3 years of experience in astronomical observations, instrumentation, data analysis, high-contrast imaging, circumstellar disk science, and/or polarimetry.
Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will spend approximately 50% of their time on the planning and development of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Coronagraphic Instrument. Additionally, 20-30% of their time will be dedicated to supporting laboratory or observational research programs within the Millar-Blanchaer group. The remaining time may be utilized for maintaining an independent research program.
