Research Area

The research focuses on identifying the genetic bases of resistance to fungal diseases, particularly black leaf streak disease (BLSD) and Fusarium wilt TR4, in banana plants.

Job Description

  • Conduct research to identify genetic markers for resistance to black Sigatoka and analyze banana gene structures related to pathogen detection.
  • Utilize banana genomic resources for gene characterization and evolutionary analysis.
  • Perform genetic studies (GWAS/QTL) for disease resistance in various environments through high-throughput phenotyping.
  • Engage in fieldwork for several weeks at the CIRAD station in Neufchâteau, Guadeloupe.
  • Author scientific articles and contribute to reports and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Collaborate with teams specializing in genetic improvement and plant health.
