Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Genetics: The Wang Laboratory at the Department of Plant Pathology, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct cutting-edge research in the field of molecular genetics of in vivo RNA structures. This position is financially supported by the National Science Foundation (USA) and offers an exciting opportunity to explore the roles of RNA structures in mediating plant-viroid interactions.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. (or an equivalent degree) in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field by the time of joining the Wang lab.
  • Demonstrated experimental expertise in RNA biology and molecular biology, supported by a publication record.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Genetics of In Vivo RNA Structures

As a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Wang Laboratory, you will:

  • Investigate in vivo RNA structures with functional implications in facilitating viroid replication and/or trafficking within plant cells.
  • Lead experimental design and execution, data collection and analysis, and manuscript/proposal preparation.
  • Play a role in training and mentoring graduate students and visiting undergraduate students in the laboratory.
