Postdoctoral Researcher in Nanoengineering: We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our project titled “Nanoengineering of multicomponent metal-free carbonaceous materials for biooil upgrading through ultrasound-assisted selective redox photo-catalysis in continuous-flow reactors.” The research will focus on the development of metal-free carbon-based composite sonophotocatalysts for the valorization of lignin and chitosan in continuous-flow sono-photoreactors. Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related sciences (obtained recently, approximately seven years before the start of this project)
- Strong background and training in a foreign laboratory
- Track record of publications in international scientific journals
- Significant research achievements in carbon-based photocatalysis, materials synthesis and characterization, organic chemistry synthesis (particularly redox processes), and sonochemistry
- Familiarity with characterization techniques for heterogeneous catalysts, such as SEM, HRTEM, XPS, XRD, chemisorption techniques, DR UV-Vis, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, photoluminescence, AFM/STM, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy
- Experience in sonochemistry and reactor design/modeling is desired

- Conduct research in the field of nanoengineering to develop multicomponent metal-free carbonaceous materials for biooil upgrading through ultrasound-assisted selective redox photo-catalysis.
- Synthesize and characterize carbon-based photocatalysts using various techniques, including SEM, HRTEM, XPS, XRD, chemisorption techniques, DR UV-Vis, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, photoluminescence, AFM/STM, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy.
- Explore the valorization of lignin and chitosan using continuous-flow sono-photoreactors.
- Collaborate with the research team and contribute to the project’s goals and milestones.
- Publish research findings in international scientific journals.
- Assist in mentoring and supervising junior researchers.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field and attend relevant conferences and workshops.
