Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Materials: The University of Cologne invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of quantum materials.   • Doctoral degree in Physics.
  • Hands-on experience in at least three of the following areas:
    • Synthesis and characterization of transition-metal oxides.
    • Elastic and inelastic neutron scattering experiments, including neutron-polarization techniques.
    • X-ray diffraction and scattering experiments.
    • Modeling of quantum materials.

๐Ÿ“ Job Description

  • Synthesize selected quantum materials in polycrystalline and single-crystalline forms and perform their characterization.
  • Conduct inelastic and elastic neutron scattering experiments, focusing on polarized techniques.
  • Carry out inelastic and elastic X-ray scattering experiments.
  • Analyze data through advanced modeling of crystal and magnetic structures, as well as nuclear and magnetic excitations.
  • Participate in teaching exercises and practical courses.
