Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Germany invites application for Postdoctoral Researcher Position at Max Planck from eligible and interested candidates

About- Research group looks for a candidate who will study prefrontal and hippocampal representations underlying decision making and reinforcement learning in humans. The project will focus on using advanced fMRI and EEG analysis techniques to identify neural signals related to replay and their relation to memory and decision making.

Eligibility/Qualification–

  • Applicants need to hold (or expect to hold by the start of the position) a doctorate in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, Computer Science, or related disciplines and should have experience with using functional neuroimaging, behavioral, and/or computational methods.
  • A record of publishing in peer-reviewed neuroscientific journals and familiarity with multivariate analysis techniques, in particular RSA and decoding methods, are highly beneficial.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques, such as deep neural networks, is beneficial. In addition, the ability to work independently and high proficiency in the English language are essential.
  • German language skills are not required.

Job/Position Description- 

  • The Independent Max Planck Research Group a young international lab that works on fundamental topics in cognitive neurosience and offer an intelectually stimulating atmosphere.
  • Research group frequently collaborate with each other and with other external scientists.
  • The Max Planck Institute for Human Development offers excellent infrastructure (behavior, computation, fMRI, EEG, eyetracking) including support staff and regular seminars.
  • The position will last for a minimum of 2 years with the possibility of contract extension pending satisfactory performance.
  • The position is available from November 15, 2020 on.
  • Later start dates are possible, but long delays in commencing the project are less desirable.
