About- The scientific goal of the project is to develop a detergent molecule encapsulated in lipid aggregate, that will cause mechanical stress in bacterial membranes, for medical applications in the treatment of infections caused by antibiotic-resistant strains. Modern strategies to overcome bacterial resistance to antibiotics, are basing among others on the use of cationic peptides produced by the cells of the immune system, as well as by bacteria present in the gastrointestinal tract, which presents antiseptic properties.

Eligibility/Qualification–
1. Candidate have to hold a PhD degree in biochemistry, organic chemistry, synthesis and analytical chemistry or related fields.
2. Well-documented proficiency in applying state-of-the-art synthesis methods and lipid aggregates preparation to study biology and/or chemistry related phenomena is required.
3. Experience with using automated synthesis methods and/or synthesis of detergents, ITC methods, and liposome preparation, preferably documented by scientific papers, will be beneficial.
4. Cell culturing, MIC measurements, and physicochemical characterizations will be considered strong assets.
5. Fluency in English.
Job/Position Description-
1. Gross salary of about 5000 PLN/month,
2. Full employment contract starting from 01.10.2020 for 12 months with benefits including health insurance.
3. Position focused solely on research with no additional teaching duties.
4. Delegation to Gdańsk for a part of employement period
