Postdoctoral Scholar: Biology: The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Scholar to join the Department of Biology. Eligibility/Qualification
- Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, or a related field (completed within the last five years).
- Experience in fieldwork with small passerine birds, including mist netting and blood collection.
- Proficiency in R for handling large databases and statistical analyses.
- Ability to work in rugged montane terrain and tolerate cold, snowy conditions.
Job Description
The Postdoctoral Scholar will be involved in fieldwork throughout the year, with a focus on:
- Conducting experiments related to spatial cognition and breeding biology of mountain chickadees.
- Managing and analyzing large databases using R.
- Performing fieldwork in challenging montane conditions, including winter snow conditions.
The initial funding is available for two years with a competitive annual salary of $61,008 plus benefits. Additional funding may be available depending on the success of pending proposals.
