Postdoctoral – Structural Immunology and CryoEM: The Department of Biological Sciences, College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Khalifa University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a cutting-edge research team focused on the structural and molecular mechanisms of innate immune signaling. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in protein purification and structural biology techniques
  • Background in innate immunity, inflammasomes, or host-pathogen interactions preferred
  • Experience with insect or mammalian cell expression systems is a plus
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals

Job Description:
The successful applicant will:

  • Design and conduct experiments for the expression and purification of multi-protein complexes involved in innate immune signaling
  • Perform single-particle cryoEM studies using state-of-the-art instrumentation at Khalifa University
  • Analyze protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions using biochemical and biophysical techniques (e.g., SEC, native PAGE, thermal shift assays)
  • Collaborate with local and international research partners
  • Contribute to mentoring graduate students and junior researchers
  • Utilize complementary structural techniques including X-ray crystallography and biochemical reconstitution
