IIT Roorkee, India, invites applications for Project Fellow Position at IIT from eligible and interested candidates.

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of Project Fellow in the International Decarbonization Modelling Project with Open Source Models and Data. The project is funded by Environment Defense Fund, Inc, New York and supervised by Prof. Tarun Sharma from the Department of Management Studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Ph.D. in an energy-related area
- M.Tech./MBA in Operations with 3 years of experience
- B.Tech with 6 years of experience in the energy sector
- Exposure to optimization programming, data handling, and visualization is desired
Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying strategies and developing scenarios for the decarbonization of the Indian energy sector. The job involves assessing the feasibility of renewable energy transition, performing inter-model comparisons, and evaluating the potential contribution of these scenarios in achieving India’s targets.
Emoluments: The remuneration for the position ranges from INR 40,000 to INR 1,00,000 per month.
Duration: Initially, the position is for 4 months, with a possibility of extension up to two years subject to project extension.

- Experience details, including research, industrial field, and others.

Note: SC/ST candidates will be given preference if they have equal qualifications and experience. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
The selected candidate may have an opportunity for Ph.D. admission (not applicable).
