Eligibility/Qualification–

Minimum Essential Qualifications for Project Scientist – I (Non-Medical):

(as per ICMR guidelines)

Second class Postgraduate degree (including the integrated PG degrees) in basic sciences or relevant engineering discipline with PhD

First class Postgraduate degree (including the integrated PG degrees) in basic sciences or relevant engineering discipline

For Engineering: First class graduate degree of 4 years in relevant engineering disciplines

Age Limit: 35 years as on the last date of application with age relaxation for SC/ST as per ICMR guidelines

Desirable experience:

Candidates having experience in some or all of the following will be preferred:

handling biological samples and bacterial cultures in microfluidics
experience in microscopic imaging of cells and biological materials through fluorescence microscopes (inverted, confocal, etc) and – deep learning based image analysis.

Job/Position Description-

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of “Project Scientist 1” in the ICMR sponsored project “Development of a Microfluidics-Based Device for Rapid Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing of Clinically Important Rapidly-Growing Non-tuberculous Mycobacteria”. The total project duration is 3 years from the start date of the project, subject to annual extensions by the funding agency.

Project description:

The project will focus on the study of bacterial population growth within microfluidics and subsequent image analysis through deep learning and AI tools.

Duration: Initially for 6 months, extendable periodically up to the duration of the project.

Salary: Project Scientist – I (Non-Medical): Rs. 56,000 p.m. + HRA (20%) = Rs. 67,200
