About- G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (formerly known as G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment & Development) was established in 1988-89, during the birth centenary year of Bharat Ratna Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, as an autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India, which has been identified as a focal agency to advance scientific knowledge, to evolve integrated management strategies, demonstrate their efficacy for conservation of natural resources, and to ensure environmentally sound development in the entire Indian Himalayan Region (IHR). Regarding the Institute’s advertisement for various project positions, the walk-in- the interview was scheduled to be held on 22.11.2022. In this context, it is to inform all concerned that due to some unavoidable circumstances, the walk-in interview has now been rescheduled for December 1st, 2022.
Position under Project Management Unit(PMU) under MoEF&CC funded Scheme “National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS)”

Project Scientist (1 No.) (@ Rs. 50,000/- PM +HRA) Age Limit: 34 Years* | Essential: Istclass Master Degree in Life Sciences/Chemical Sciences/Biochemistry or relevant subject with 4 years post qualification experience in handling research projects. Desirable: Ph. D.in any of theabove fields Good comprehension and communication skills, well versed with Himalayan Sites, Computer certificate course of minimum 6 month duration Working experience in the Himalayan region in Projects | Efficient coordination of PMU activities Assist in organization of STAG and Steering Committees III.Help in establishing linkages/coordination with regional units/partners institutions/organizations IV. Assist in project monitoring, report writing, synthesis, liaison with other Institution/Ministries and MoEF&CC, etc. |
How to Apply-
Walk-In-Interview will be conducted for purely project based temporary positions at KosiKatarmal (Almora) campus of the Institute. Candidates have appropriate qualifications in relevant subject/specialization with consistently good experience may appear for Walk-In-Interview on 01.12.2022 (10:00 AM onwards). Candidates appearing for Interview must bring all original copies (with xerox copy) of mark sheet, certificates, testimonials, experience etc along with an application. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the Interview. Candidates are advised to wear mask, observe social distancing and follow instructions related to COVID-19.
