Eligibility/Qualification–

Candidates applying for the Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellowship must possess a PhD in the relevant discipline prescribed for the respective post.

For RJP-051

Required: PhD in Botany/Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Biochemistry.

Preferred expertise: Bioinformatics or Microbiology, particularly cyanobacteria of algae.

For RJP-052

Required: PhD in Plant Biology/Botany/Plant Science/Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Genetics/Life Sciences or a closely related discipline.

Preferred experience: Plant research involving Arabidopsis, potato or tomato; plant tissue culture; plant transformation; and molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, genetic analysis and genotyping.

Project Description-

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), recognized by the Ministry of Education as an Institution of Eminence, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellowship (RJP-PDF) for a duration of one year.

The fellowship offers opportunities to conduct advanced research in areas including Botany, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Plant Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Molecular Biology, Genetics, Life Sciences, Microbiology, and related disciplines.

BHU provides access to sophisticated research infrastructure through its departments and the Central Discovery Centre, including advanced microscopy, flow cytometry, mass spectrometry, NMR, molecular biology, and other cutting-edge research facilities.

Designation: Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellow (RJP-PDF)

The selected Post-Doctoral Fellows will undertake advanced research under the supervision of the designated faculty mentor at Banaras Hindu University.

Depending on the position, the research work may involve:

• Conducting post-doctoral research in Botany, Plant Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Microbiology or related areas.
• Applying advanced molecular biology and genetic analysis techniques.
• Working with plant systems such as Arabidopsis, potato or tomato.
• Performing plant tissue culture and plant transformation.
• Carrying out bioinformatics or microbiological investigations.
• Using sophisticated research instrumentation and facilities available at BHU.
• Contributing to high-quality research outputs and academic activities related to the assigned research area.
