About- The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is a premier research institution under the aegis of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and Deemed-to-be-University. Known for interdisciplinary research, the Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities and provides excellent support to its faculty members in achieving ambitious goals of their research.

Location- Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, Karnataka

Eligibility/Qualification–

Ph.D. in relevant areas with at least two years of post-doctoral experience, high-quality publications, and strong academic credentials.

Job/Position Description- 

Currently, applications are sought by the New Chemistry Unit (NCU) (https://www.jncasr.ac.in/research/research-units/new-chemistry-unit) from individuals with a proven track record of high-quality research in frontier areas of Chemistry, to nominate for Ramanujan Fellow. Highly motivated candidates who complement the ongoing research programs of the Unit or bring novel expertise or research perspectives are invited to apply. The successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain an active independent research program, mentor master’s and Ph.D. students jointly with regular faculty member and contribute to teaching and outreach activities of the Unit.

Short listing Criteria

A panel of experts will initially screen candidates, followed by seminars and interactions with Unit faculty members for those short-listed. The final candidate on the shortlist will receive a host institution endorsement/sponsorship certificate.

  2. Completed fellowship application. Please include a detailed statement of your future research programme in case the fellowship application is not yet open. 
  3. PDFs of three most significant (not necessarily measured by JIF) publications, along with a brief statement of impact of each paper. 
  4. A statement of teaching interests that details what courses you would like to teach, any prior teaching experience, and any other relevant information.
  5. Name and contact information of at least three referees.
