IIT Roorkee, India invites application for Research Associate (Engg) Position from eligible and interested candidates
Indian nationals are invited to apply for a research associate position at the Indian Institute of Technology’s Department of Physics. The project, titled “Centre for Rechargeable Energy Storage System for Augmenting Transportation and Electrification (cREATE),” is sponsored by SERB, New Delhi. The position involves synthesizing and characterizing energy storage materials for rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors. Eligibility is required, and applicants must submit their CV, attested copies of their degree/certificate, and original certificates. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates.

OR M Tech in Aerospace/Chemical/Mechanical//Mechatronics/Civil/ Tribology/Hydropower Engineering with 3 years’ experience in CFD/design of hydro turbine/pump OR related areas
Job Description:
Applications are invited from Indian nationals only for project position(s) as per the details given below for the consultancy/research project(s) under the Prof Arun Kumar, Principal investigator, Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
Title of project: Centre of Excellence – Research and development of Ultra Low Head (ULH) and Hydrokinetic Turbines and performance prediction of small hydro turbine model/projects
- Sponsor of the project: Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (R&D Division)
- Project position(s) and number: Project Fellow – 1 no. ((a) Hydro Kinetic turbine development, and (b) Development of CFD guidelines)
- Emoluments: Project Fellow : Rs. 40,000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/- + HRA per month
(Emolument shall be fixed as per suitability and experience of the candidate)
- Duration: 1 year or up to project completion date (project completion period three years)
- Job description: Setting up of laboratory & design of ULH turbine, CFD simulation & carry out design and model test of ULH turbine, analyzing the data, report preparation Setting up of laboratory & design of hydro kinetic turbine, CFD simulation & carry out design and model test of hydro kinetic turbine, analyzing the data, report preparation Carry out CFD simulation of Francis turbines for development of standard procedure and guidelines and model testing. Carry out meshing of 3D complex geometries, carry out post processing the large data using Python /Matlab/Octave etc., scientific paper writing.
