Eligibility/Qualification

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in biology, engineering, zoology, or a related field (must be conferred before the official start date).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in functional morphology, comparative biomechanics, animal behavior, ichthyology, zoology, paleontology, or materials science.
  • Experience with kinematic data collection and IACUC-approved protocols.
  • Proven record of publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Intermediate programming skills (R, Python, LabVIEW).

Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Lead and execute laboratory experiments and analyses.
  • Write and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research findings at professional conferences.
  • Mentor undergraduate research assistants.
  • Maintain the animal care facility and supervise research assistants.
  • Conduct and analyze micro-CT scans.
  • Develop computer code as needed for research projects.
  • Maintain detailed records of data and metadata.
