ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India invites application for Research Associate Position at ICAR from eligible and interested candidates

About- The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907.  The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).

Title of the NASF Project- Chemical, structural and functional characterization of identified anti-tick lead phyto-chemicals and optimization of delivery matrix for effective application of natural formulation for the control of acaricide resistant ticks

Location- ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi

Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential:

With Doctoral degree: Ph.D. (Chemistry / Agricultural Chemicals)

With Master’s degree:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry (with specialization in Organic Chemistry) or Agricultural Chemicals with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship / Associateship / Training / Other engagements.
  • Published research papers will be desirable.
  • Those with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree must have qualified UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET or equivalent as per the ICAR guidelines

Desirable:

Research experience in natural product chemistry As per ICAR office memorandum (F. No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 13th July 2015 and
F. No. Agril. Edn./6/27/2014-HRD Dated 9th October, 2015)

Age as on date of interview: Maximum 40 years for Research Associate

Emoluments per month-

  • Rs.54000 + HRA (as per ICAR guidelines) for Ph.D.
  • Rs. 49000 + HRA (as per ICAR guidelines) for M.Sc.
