About- Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.

Research Job/Area- Botany/ Life Science/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Biosciences/ Plant Science/Plant Molecular Biology or any related field

Location- BHU, Varanasi, UP, India

Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential qualification: The candidates should have PhD degree (Botany/ Life Science/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Biosciences/ Plant Science/Plant Molecular Biology or any related field) from Indian University/Institutes with NIRF ranking of upto 20 (overall or in respective arears) or those who have done PhD from abroad will be eligible. The candidates must have proven track record with published work at least two papers in Q1 or Q2 journals or SCOPUS/Web of Science listed journals. The upper Age Limit is 45 Years (5 years relaxation for Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped Candidate). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GO1 rules.

Desirable qualification: Candidate with technical research experience in the area of proteomics, physiology, molecular stress biology, molecular biology and having technical expertise in techniques like qPCR, Gel based proteomics, Western Blotting, Pulse amplitude modulation (PAM), fluorometry and experience of handling and growing of Arabidopsi.s• thciliana with evidence of original research publications will be preferred.

Project Description-

Applications are invited for the post Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellowship with a fellowship amount of Rs. 60,000/-pm and HRA of Rs. 10,000/- per month, sanctioned under Institution of Eminence (loE) Scheme of BHU for the duration of one year. In addition, a contingency amount of Rs. 50,000/- per annum will be provided. Fellows will also have access to comprehensive benefits, ‘including health services, library and access to other resources, as per BHU rules. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
