Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Ph.D. in Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on modelling and optimization with minimum 2 years relevant experience.

Candidate should have :

Expertise in industrial decarbonisation, energy transition, and energy modelling on a national level.- Understanding of industrial systems, modelling of industrial processes, and decarbonisation options on an industry level.
Working understanding of the oil and gas refining process, experience in managing individualprojects, a track record in academic/technical communication.

Preferred additional Qualification: Other preferred qualifications required are good writing and oral communication skills.

Job Profile:

1) Perform literature review and market analysis for the Digitalization tools in the oil and gas sector. 2) Interaction with the oil and gas industry for identifying the industrial needs.

Identify the gap areas and develop the R&D projects in Digitalization.
Manage a research group in the area of Digitalization and Energy transition Modeling.5) Literature review on global and national energy transition models, and interactions with the Government, Energy think tank and Academia.
Working on the development of sector-specific and overall energy transition models.
Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the literature and data based on scientific and technicalparameters.
Support the translation of the outcomes of the R&D projects to industrial implementation.

Project title: Recruitment of Project Staff for COEOGE through donation fund.

About the project:

The Centre of Excellence in Oil, Gas and Energy (CoEOGE) was established at IIT Bombay in 2019 through the initiative by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG). The Centre’s mandate is to conduct research to address existing and emerging challenges in the oil and gas and the broader energy sector. The research conducted through the centre is in active collaboration with the Seven oil and gas public sector undertakings (PSUs). The centre thus represents a unique initiative that connects the Government, Industry and Academia to solve problems at the forefront of the oil and gas sector.

The research projects cover areas such as refinery operations, catalysis and process development, pipeline monitoring, carbon capture, upstream exploration and production ,waste management, digitalization of the oil and gas sector and energy transition studies. Pay Details:

Level PR-O3: Salary range (78800 – 209200) per month + other allowances as applicable.

General information:

The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project. The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
