PhD Fellowship IN Switzerland

PhD Researcher – NV-Center Microscopy: A PhD position is open for applications until January 31st, 2024, as part of the SEED program (industry track) co-funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement no. 101126644. The research focuses on NV-center microscopy of spin wave beams, aiming to explore the potential of magnonic interferometry for future energy-efficient computing and signal processing devices.

Designation: PhD Researcher

Research Area: NV-Center Microscopy of Spin Wave Beams

Location: IMT Atlantique, Brest, France, and Qnami, Basel, Switzerland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Physics, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong background in magnonics, spin dynamics, and quantum technology.
  • Knowledge of scanning NV magnetometry, quantum mechanics, and nanofabrication techniques.

Job Description:

PhD Researcher – NV-Center Microscopy of Spin Wave Beams

The PhD candidate will work on the study of spin wave beams using NV-center microscopy. The research aims to shape the propagation of spin waves for applications in beyond-CMOS technology. The candidate will be involved in simulations, nanofabrication, setup of NV center microscopy, and measurement of devices. The project’s interdisciplinary nature involves fundamental studies, nanofabrication, and engineering work for integrating probing schemes with external applied fields into commercialized NV microscopes.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their applications, including a cover letter, CV, and contact details of at least two references, by January 31st, 2024, to the provided link or email address.

Last Date for Apply: 31 January 2024
