Postdoc – Study of Quantum Dots and Application to Spin Qubits, France

Postdoc in France

Postdoc – Study of Quantum Dots: A postdoctoral position is available for the study of quantum dots and their application to spin qubits. The project focuses on quantum dots realized in oxide interfaces for the development of spin qubits manipulable by EDSR (Electric Dipole Spin Resonance) through Rashba spin-orbit coupling.

Designation: Postdoc (H/F)

Research Area: Condensed Matter: Electronic Structures and Properties

Location: PARIS 05

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Level 8 Education (Doctorate)
  • 1 to 4 years of research experience
  • Expertise in low-temperature electronic transport, particularly in low-dimensional systems.

Job Description:

Postdoc – Study of Quantum Dots and Application to Spin Qubits

The postdoctoral project aims to investigate quantum dots created in oxide interfaces for their application in the realization of spin qubits manipulable by EDSR through Rashba spin-orbit coupling. The candidate will conduct studies on quantum dots using a combination of dc electronic transport measurements and low-temperature microwave techniques. Additionally, active participation in the design and realization of quantum dots is expected.

Activities:

  • Study of quantum dots using dc electronic transport measurements and low-temperature microwave techniques.
  • Design and realization of quantum dots.

Skills: Demonstrated expertise in low-temperature electronic transport, especially in low-dimensional systems, acquired during the Ph.D. thesis.

Work Context: The work will be conducted at the LPEM laboratory of ESPCI – CNRS, within the framework of the European Pathfinder IQARO project. The candidate may also be required to travel for missions, such as attending conferences or work meetings with collaborators.

Constraints and Risks: No identified risks.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should ensure that their candidate profile is correct before applying. Applications, including a cover letter, CV, and contact details of at least two references, should be emailed as a single PDF file to the provided contact: [Email Address]. Please use the subject line “Postdoc Application – Quantum Dots Study.”

Application Deadline: 12 January 2024
