Eligibility/Qualification:
- BSc honours degree (1.1 or 2.1) in biology, botany/plant science, ecology, conservation, or related subject.
- Good understanding or strong interest in plant ecology and/or plant physiology.
- Strong understanding of experimental design, data analysis, and statistics.
- Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in conducting botanical fieldwork.
- Full, clean driving license.
Desirable:
- MSc in a relevant subject.
- Experience in analyzing remote sensing imagery.
Job Description: The PhD project will monitor changes in the plant community, assess the impact of translocation and climate change on Hordeum secalinum and the grassland community. It involves plant community composition monitoring, remote sensing analysis, and experimental simulation of future climate conditions.
Funding: The PhD position is funded for four years, including a tax-free stipend of €25,000 p.a. and covered tuition fees at the EU rate.
