Postdoc in Cryo-EM and Functional Studies

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Cryo-EM and functional studies of Na,K-ATPase isoform complexes associated with brain and cardiovascular disorders.

Location: Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, Universitetsbyen 81, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in membrane protein studies, including cryo-EM studies and biochemical/biophysical studies.
  • Prior experience in animal experimentation.
  • Must fulfill conditions for a postdoctoral employment at Aarhus University.
  • Keen interest in teaching, dissemination, and supervision.
  • Excellent English, writing, and analytical skills.

Job Description: The postdoc will focus on the functional, biochemical, and structural characterization of Na,K-ATPase isoforms and disease variants. Emphasis will be on molecular functions in the nervous system, muscle, and other tissues of pathophysiological interest. The role involves exploring regulatory mechanisms, specific isoform complexes, and tissue/cell-specific targeting of Na,K-ATPase-directed interventions. Additionally, the postdoc will supervise students and contribute to the lab’s general organization.
