The successful candidate will join the Collier lab to study the impact of DNA methylation in the Agrobacterium tumefaciens plant pathogen. The project aims to identify and characterize epigenetic regulators that coordinate gene expression with the progression of DNA replication. This is a one-year contract, renewable subject to funding availability, with an expected start date of 01.04.2024 or earlier.

Designation: Postdoctoral Position

Research Area: Bacterial Epigenetics

Location: University of Lausanne

  • Strong background in microbiology, bacterial genetics, and genomics
  • Knowledge in bioinformatics/programming (R/Biopython/Matlab) would be a plus

Job Description: The post-holder will investigate the impact of DNA methylation on the A. tumefaciens cell cycle and genome maintenance. The focus is on identifying epigenetic regulators that read marks on the genome to coordinate gene expression with DNA replication progression. The role involves personal research (at least 80% of activity) and contributing to group research and teaching practical courses for Bachelor students (20% of activity).
