Location: Grenoble, France

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline obtained in the last 3 years.
  • Previous research experience with high-energy X-ray diffraction and/or imaging.
  • Experience with instrumentation and sample environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to interact effectively with multi-disciplinary staff and facility users in English (working language at the ESRF).

Job Description: The Postdoctoral Fellow will work on the Materials Science beamline, ID11, which offers a suite of high-energy X-ray diffraction and imaging methods. Responsibilities include developing and executing research projects that leverage the beamline’s capabilities, particularly in structural materials, micromechanics, and phase transformations. The role also involves serving as a local contact to provide support for the scientific community at ESRF. The initial contract is for 18 months, with the possibility of renewal for a further 6 or 18 months.

Working Conditions:

  • Contract duration: 18 months, renewable for a further 6 or 18 months.
