Postdoctoral Researcher in Medical Imaging: The Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery (MMK) and the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) Group at Karolinska Institutet seek a Postdoctoral Researcher to collaborate on advancing hemodynamic risk prediction using four-dimensional flow magnetic resonance imaging (4D Flow MRI) through generative machine learning techniques. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. David Marlevi and co-workers to develop and evaluate data-driven imaging networks and processing algorithms, aiming to enhance cardiovascular diagnosis and prognosis.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in scientific machine learning, medical imaging, fluid mechanics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience in neural network implementations, particularly in medical applications.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Swedish is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international research team.

Job Description: The Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on advancing quantitative 4D Flow MRI through generative machine learning techniques, specifically targeting super-resolution conversion using dedicated neural networks. Responsibilities include enhancing existing discriminatory networks, exploring generative or physics-informed networks, and evaluating developed utilities in clinical and experimental settings. The researcher will contribute to ongoing projects, collaborate with clinical colleagues, and publish findings in leading journals.
