Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical Chemistry: We are seeking a dynamic and proactive postdoctoral fellow to join our team at IPREM (Institute of Analytical Sciences and Physico-Chemistry for the Environment and Materials), within the framework of the EFFECTOR project. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Physical Chemistry
- Strong interest in modeling and materials science, particularly in organic and polymer synthesis
- Dual expertise in modeling of chemical reactivity and molecular dynamics
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English
- Familiarity with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements
Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for predicting optical band gaps, absorption intensities, and light penetration depths using density functional theory (DFT, CASSCF) with Gaussian and MOLPRO codes, as well as in-house Python scripts. Additionally, the candidate will use these simulations with LAMMPS MD simulations and further develop the use of CRYSTAL to understand the long-term impacts on the electronic and opto-electronic qualities of donor polymers and interface materials. Moreover, the position will involve writing reports and presenting results orally in English, as well as international travel for conferences and meetings with partners and collaborators.
