CSIC is offering an exciting opportunity for postdoctoral and doctoral positions to work on the innovative study of auxins as signaling molecules in plant-associated bacteria. The project, “Auxins as Signaling Molecules in Beneficial and Pathogenic Bacteria Associated with Plants,” will focus on the molecular mechanisms of auxin recognition in various plant-pathogenic and plant-growth-promoting bacteria. The research will utilize multidisciplinary approaches including microbiology, molecular biology, transcriptomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics.

- Doctoral: Bachelor’s degree (300 ECTS) or Master’s in relevant fields, academic record, scientific contributions, experience in microbiology/molecular biology, English proficiency
Job Description:
The selected candidates will study the role of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) as a signaling molecule in plant-associated bacteria. The research will involve investigating the mechanisms by which IAA influences plant-microbe interactions, including its role in bacterial processes. The study will utilize various methods, such as high-throughput ligand screening, microcalorimetry, and crystallography. The outcomes will contribute to the development of new strategies for plant growth promotion and biocontrol of plant pathogens.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should send their CV, academic transcripts, and contact information for two referees to Miguel A. Matilla at miguel.matilla@eez.csic.es. Co-supervision will be provided by Amalia Roca (Universidad de Granada).
Last Date for Apply: Rolling applications, apply at the earliest.
