Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of science or engineering, awarded within the last five years (for postdoctoral positions).
  • A higher degree (e.g., D.Sc. or Doctorate degree) will qualify for senior positions.
  • Strong research background with a proven record of scientific productivity and innovation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and creativity in research.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is generally required.

Job Description:

  • Conduct independent research aligned with the objectives of the sponsoring federal laboratories.
  • Collaborate with permanent laboratory staff to enhance the laboratory’s research efforts.
  • Present research findings at conferences and publish in high-impact journals.
  • Mentor and support junior researchers and interns as needed.
  • Engage in opportunities to influence government policy related to technology, environmental issues, and more.
  • Participate in professional development activities provided by the NRC program.
