Research Area:
This PhD position focuses on the environmental impact of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. The candidate will assess alternative synthesis routes for pharmaceuticals within the framework of safe and sustainable design (SSbD) and contribute to evaluating environmental risks during the use phase of pharmaceuticals.
Location:
Radboud University, Department of Environmental Science, Nijmegen, Netherlands.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education: MSc in Environmental, Natural, or Engineering Sciences.
- Skills: Proficiency in life cycle assessment and/or chemical risk assessment, analytical modeling skills, and strong communication abilities in English.
- Experience (Preferred): Background in environmental modeling and data analysis.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will:
- Develop and apply methods to assess the environmental sustainability of pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborate with project partners across Europe.
- Participate in conferences and workshops.
- Deliver project results through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Assist teaching activities for BSc and MSc students, contributing to thesis supervision.
