Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Awarded a second-cycle qualification in chemistry, physics, or corresponding subjects with a focus on physical chemistry.
  • Completed at least 240 credits in higher education, including a minimum of 60 credits at the Master’s level and an independent project worth at least 15 credits (with at least 90 credits in chemistry and physics).
  • Acquired equivalent knowledge through other means, domestically or internationally.
  • Strong proficiency in oral and written English.

Consideration will also be given to collaborative skills, independence, and relevant experience that complements ongoing research at the department.

Description

The doctoral student’s primary responsibility involves conducting research on quantum-dot hybrid systems utilizing time-resolved laser spectroscopy. The role includes:

  • Investigating the dynamics of charge carriers and catalytic mechanisms.
  • Engaging in independent research and collaborating with peers.
  • Participating in the WISE Research School, including seminars, courses, and research visits.
  • Potentially contributing up to 20% of time towards undergraduate teaching responsibilities.
