Postdoctoral Researcher – Health Impact Attribution: The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Global Health Resilience (GHR) group. Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education: BSc and MSc in Epidemiology, Biology, Ecology, Meteorology, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics (or equivalent).
  • Experience: PhD in infectious disease epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, statistical, ecological or environmental modelling, or related field.
  • Essential Skills:
  • Data management and statistical analyses experience.
  • Strong programming skills in R or Python.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in Spanish and additional languages is advantageous.
  • Experience in machine learning, Bayesian modelling, and data harmonization.

Job Description
The Postdoctoral Researcher will:

  • Co-design innovative methodologies for impact attribution of climate-related health risks.
  • Harmonize multi-source, multi-scale datasets related to climate and health.
  • Develop statistical and machine learning models to explore the impact of environmental factors on health outcomes.
  • Contribute to open-source modelling tools and develop training materials for diverse audiences.
  • Disseminate research findings in peer-reviewed journals and at international conferences.
  • Engage with stakeholders to enhance the applicability of research outputs.
