Research Area

The PhD candidate will work within BBRC’s Neuroimaging group, led by Dr. Gemma Salvadó, focusing on analyzing neuropsychological and neuroimaging data to advance knowledge in Alzheimer’s disease prevention and cognitive dysfunction in aging populations. The role emphasizes clinical neuroscience and translational research.

Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center is located at the Ciutadella Campus of Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona, Spain. The vibrant research center is part of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), which hosts several prestigious biomedical research institutions, providing an interdisciplinary and collaborative work environment.


Eligibility/Qualifications

  • Education:
  • MSc in Neuroscience, Biomedicine, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Highly motivated, well-organized, and proactive.
  • Knowledge in neuroimaging processing (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Interest in neurodegenerative disease research.

Description

The selected PhD candidate will engage in various scientific activities, including:

  • Data analysis, manuscript preparation, and publication in high-impact journals.
  • Contribution to clinical research projects by providing scientific/clinical insights.
  • Preparing internal project reports, participating in conferences, and presenting findings.
  • Participating in regular internal and external collaborative meetings.

BBRC provides access to modern technical facilities, including a 3T MR scanner dedicated to research, as well as an open, inclusive, and diverse work environment aligned with the HRS4R (HR Excellence in Research) principles.
