PhD Student (FTC): Membrane Lipids, CBMN, Pessac, France

Postdoc in France

PhD Student (FTC): Membrane Lipids: The Institute of Chemistry and Biology of Membranes and Nano-objects (CBMN) in Pessac is offering a PhD scholarship focused on the role of membrane lipids in cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1R) function and membrane dynamics. This multidisciplinary research aims to explore the impacts of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) on CB1R signaling and its implications in Alzheimer’s disease.

Description

The PhD project will focus on the relationship between polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and the cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1R), the most abundant GPCR in the brain, influencing memory and motor processes. The research aims to investigate how PUFAs modify CB1R conformational states and downstream signaling, utilizing methods like fluorescence spectroscopy, microscopy, and lipid biophysics. The student will work in a cutting-edge scientific environment, gaining experience at the intersection of biology, chemistry, and physics with access to advanced research facilities.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should ensure their candidate profiles are correct before applying. The application process details will typically be found on the official CBMN or host institution’s web portal.
