Research Area
The project will focus on the programming of engineered living materials by manipulating micro-organisms, with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation in material science.

The position is based at the INM – Leibniz Institute for New Materials in Saarbrücken, Germany.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Doctorate (PhD) in natural sciences in microbiology (fungi), biochemistry, biomaterials, or comparable areas.
- Experience in one or several of the following fields:
- Handling and genetic engineering of filamentous fungi.
- Synthetic biology and protein engineering.
- Synthesis and characterization of living biohybrid materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to manage ambitious projects with international partners.
- Ability to work in a team, flexibility, and self-organization.
