Research Fellow – Advanced Cell Therapy: A research fellowship is available at the Cardiovascular Biology Laboratory, led by Prof. Serena Zacchigna at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). The selected candidate will work closely with clinicians and biomedical companies to develop a platform for advanced cell therapy for non-healing wounds as part of the COHERENCE project.

Designation: Research Fellow

Research Area: Cell Therapy, Molecular Biology, Cardiovascular Biology

Location: International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Degree in Biology or related scientific fields.
  • Hands-on experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques.
  • Fluent spoken and written English (Italian and Slovenian will be a plus).
  • Strong motivation and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in interacting with clinicians and industry collaborators.
  • PhD in Molecular Biology or related fields is an asset.
  • Previous experience with primary cells and biological therapies for cardiovascular diseases is desirable.

Job Description:

  • Contribute to the development of cell therapy products for treating non-healing wounds.
  • Assist in building an open platform to help researchers comply with local and international cell therapy regulations.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, biomedical companies, and academic institutions across Italy and Slovenia.
  • Work within an international and stimulating research environment.
