Eligibility/Qualifications

  • PhD degree or imminent award in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related subject.
  • Expertise in conversion cathode materials and alkali metal batteries.
  • Experience in mechanistic investigation of battery electrochemistry via in-situ/ex-situ characterizations.
  • A strong publication track record.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in research.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Investigate the electrochemistry of potassium-sulphur reactions.
  • Improve the kinetics of reactions through the development of electrocatalysts.
  • Examine anode/electrolyte interfacial kinetics and reduce metal dendrite growth.
  • Analyze the multi-phase reactions of the cathode and the phase sequence of oxidation/reduction reactions.
  • Discover and synthesize efficient catalysts to enhance cell performance.
  • Work independently as well as collaborate with team members and other research collaborators.
  • Supervise PhD and master’s students.
  • Draft reports and research papers.
  • Manage laboratory safety protocols.
