Eligibility / Qualification
- Candidates must hold or be about to obtain a Laurea Magistrale (Italian equivalent of MSc) or an equivalent foreign qualification recognized by the examining committee.
- No age or nationality restrictions apply.
- The degree must be obtained before enrolment to maintain admission eligibility.
Job Description
Ph.D. students will engage in full-time research and academic activities over a four-year programme (possibility to complete in three years), including coursework and examinations. Fellowships are awarded for up to four years, subject to annual academic progress.
Fellowship & Benefits
- Annual Fellowship: €16,242.96 (gross; ~12% tax applies)
- One-time settlement allowance:
- €500 for EU students
- €1,000 for non-EU students
- Monthly rent contribution: €150 (with registered lease in Trieste)
- Laptop reimbursement: up to €400
- Research/networking travel support (3rd/4th year students): up to €1,000
- Health insurance reimbursement for non-EU and certain EU students: up to €700/year
- Parental and medical leave support according to regulations
- Regional tax payment required: €120–€160/year
