Research Area

The focus of the position is on translational research in gait retraining for stroke survivors with a specific emphasis on the implementation of a soft exosuit that is scalable and reproducible.

Location

University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), Omaha, Nebraska.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Required:
  • Ph.D. in Physical Therapy, Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Orthotics/Prosthetics, or a related field.
  • Experience with gait rehabilitation and/or gait analysis.
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working with clinical populations.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or similar data analysis software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work closely with a dynamic team, including faculty from UNO and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Responsibilities include conducting lab-based motion capture studies and home-based data collection utilizing portable motion capture systems. Opportunities for manuscript writing, project management, mentoring, and grant development will be included.
